CIARA HUFF NAMED NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FOR
COURT APPOINTED SPECIAL ADVOCATES (CASA) OF BALTIMORE CITY
Baltimore – July 1, 2019 – CASA of Baltimore City’s Board of Directors appointed Ciara M. Huff as Executive Director.
Huff brings with her over a decade of experience in advocacy and non-profit work. Huff holds a B.A. in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland and a M.A. in Legal & Ethical Studies and M.S. in Negotiations & Conflict Management from the University of Baltimore.
The Baltimore native has been in the role of Interim Executive Director since March 2019 after the departure of former Executive Director Nancy Blackwell. Huff initially started as a volunteer advocate for CASA in 2014. In her role as Executive Director, she will manage a team of 10 staff members and approximately 100 volunteer advocates, as well as continue to raise funds and foster relationships with community partners & stakeholders.
In her role prior to joining CASA, Huff served as Grants Administrator & Policy Analyst for the Office of the State’s Attorney for Baltimore City (SAO), where she managed $5 million in grant funds for the city of Baltimore. In her role as Grants Administrator & Policy Analyst, Huff secured funds to hire additional victim/witness advocates for each division in the office & championed on behalf of SAO in Annapolis during the past legislative session.
CASA of Baltimore is a non-profit organization that aims to provide support for abused and neglected children by advocating for their best interests to help them reach permanency and their full potential.
