Executive Director - Deadline 3/28/2019 Title: Executive Director Reports to: The Board of Directors CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Baltimore City is a volunteer-driven non-profit organization committed to serving abused and neglected children by representing their voices in the Baltimore City court system and advocating for their best interest in the judicial, educational, medical and social service communities so that every child can have a safe and permanent home and the opportunity to thrive. CASA of Baltimore City is seeking an energetic, team oriented, passionate Executive Director with a proven track record in the non-profit community to strengthen the sustainability of our nonprofit organization. CASA of Baltimore's Executive Director will have a range of duties, including the following:
Fundraising: Raise funds to meet budgetary needs in support of all organizational programming
Leadership & Management: Oversee and manage the daily running of the organization and staff
Program Development & Creative Oversight: Develop new project opportunities for CASA of Baltimore City volunteer recruitment and consult on development of promotional material
Lead all development activities including the cultivation and solicitation of individual donors, foundations, corporations and government sources
The Executive Director works with the Board Development Committee on a sponsorship plan for the annual Art of Caring event and holiday gift drive, as well as other events
Write specialized letters of inquiry, funding proposals, and sponsorship packages
Maintain recording, tracking and reporting systems to monitor fundraising activities
Represent the organization at events in the business and non-profit communities and attend (after traditional work hours when needed) functions to create new contacts and visibility
Leadership & Management Specifics:
Advocate on behalf of CASA of Baltimore with DSS, public sector officials, potential donors and other key stakeholder
Provide leadership, direction, motivation, and management of staff, including the Program Director
Oversee the annual operating budget and collaborate with the board and staff to prudently manage the organization's resources within budget guidelines
Manage marketing and public relations effort, including the writing and distribution of press releases and serve as primary media contact
Manage and cultivate Board and its sub-committees
Communicate with CASA of Baltimore City Board -Engage with National and State CASA, DSS and local non profits, remain informed of non profit trends
Program Development & Creative Oversight Specifics:
Work with the Board and staff to develop and cultivate new prospects for community outreach and volunteer recruitment in the greater Baltimore area
Ensure annual volunteer recruitment and budget goals are met each year
Assist the volunteer recruitment leader with managing and developing an annual strategy to recruit new volunteers to serve as CASA advocates
Oversee the design of branded promotional material for all organization programs
Qualifications: The Executive Director will be thoroughly committed to the CASA mission. The successful candidate will have proven leadership and a successful track record in fundraising. Other qualities include:
5+ years experience in a management role at a nonprofit
Demonstrated success in revenue generation (securing significant gifts from foundations and corporations, as well as individual donors) for a nonprofit organization
Financially savvy with knowledge of budget development in a nonprofit setting
Strong fiscal management experience with earned income and fundraising efforts
Strong technological skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to self direct and prioritize amount competing goals and initiate process improvements
Helpful, not required:
Established network of Baltimore city business and non-profit leaders (established and emerging)
Experience and/or knowledge of juvenile court, DSS and foster care systems
Strong press contacts, and a proven track record of garnering publicity for foster children

The Development Associate position is an entry-level position that is primarily responsible for assisting the Executive Director carry out the implementation of fund development activities for individual and corporate donors.
The Development Associate and will provide support to and work in collaboration with the Executive Director. This position requires strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize as well as multi-task. Fund development is essential to the overall success of the organization and therefore it is imperative that the person in this role be dedicated to providing the support needed by the Director of Development to assist in securing the resources necessary for providing support to those accessing these vital programs.

Timely administration of donor acknowledgement letters
Participate as an active member of the agency Development Committee
Research foundation, city, county, state, federal and corporate grant opportunities.
Basic administration functions
Coordinate agency mailings
Assist with coordination of special agency events (The Art of Caring)
Coordinate promotions for special agency events
Assist with event logistics for agency fundraisers
Other duties as assigned
Associate degree, Bachelor’s degree preferred in social services, public administration, or other related field.
Computer literate and technologically proficient in standard word processing, spreadsheet and data base software applications.
Experience in web development, experience with Photoshop preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Publisher, Power Point)
Highly organized and motivated
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of and commitment to children and families.
